There are many graces in my life. Some are so everyday that I do not often give thanks for them, such as the love of my family, the air I breathe, and simple joys.

I now call those things to mind.

I give thanks
for the way these people,


experiences, and gifts sustain my life as I know it.

I also have struggles that have shaped me into who I am today.

I now review my experiences of struggle and choose an event or experience that has changed me.

As I sit with this experience,

I notice the people who walked the path with me,

the ways I was compassionate to myself and others,

and the ways God was present to me in this time of struggle.

I give thanks
for the ability to grow,


even in times of difficulty.

My future holds limitless possiblity
and I leave myself open to the hope that exists there.
I now envision what my future might hold.

I give thanks for
the dreams that sustain me



and the God of All Names who will guide me as my story unfolds.
