BIRDS ADAPTED TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT IN ORDER TO SURVIVE LONGER AND REPRODUCE.

The birds who can fly can build their nests in the trees to avoid predators and reproduce with more success.

The species with similar traits are the dinosaurs and the adaptation originated with them.

Scientists believe the origin of birds lies with dinosaurs.

Bats and fish have homologous structures with Birds. Such as spinal structures and certain organ systems.

The adaptations discovered were the wing length and the body structure.

V- The birds had different wing structures and organ systems.

Variation

O- The ones that couldn’t fly could not escape ground predators.

Overproduction

A- The birds with the genetic mutation of longer wings or a stronger respiratory system would survive.

D- The ones with longer wings and more effective respiratory systems would take over the population.

The younger birds show evidence of once having a thing called "protowings" this means that their wings can not be used properly yet. Through this early seemingly pointless observation we can see that birds used to be used for gliding.
