4. The Portuguese and Brazilian relationships fluctuated throughout the years, but the Portuguese mainly engaged in interest in Brazil because of the resources that Brazil obtained in their country. The land and the space that they had was very appealing to the Portuguese and they sent explorers and land owners to engage in these resources.
5. The first French people who encountered the indigenous people of the Americas completely relied on the natives for survival. Along with the English, the Europeans made a number of agreements with the natives. These agreements involved important matters like trade and land ownership. Though they faced a number of conflicts as well, they were able to find common ground through agreements.
6. The Treaty of Tordesillas was in fact signed in Tordesillas and divided the newly found lands outside of Europe between the Portuguese and the Spanish empires. It made peace between the two governments, thus very important.
