THREE WAYS BACTERIA EXCHANGE DNA

NOTES

  • Binary fission is when an organism has become an adult and splits in two
  • Bacteria exchange DNA in three different ways. Transformation, transfusion, and conjugation.
  • In transformation, bacteria pick up new DNA from the environment.
  • In transduction, a virus injects its DNA into the bacteria.
  • Conjugation. Another loop of DNA called plasmid is transferred between two bacterium.
