by Shannon Holland

Art is beauty

art was origonally described as being beautiful

  • Long before our modern art, art history is full of examples of beautiful art. Classical art forms such as painting, and sculpting was the main form of art.
  • There are figures of beautiful women with long flowing hair, men in colorful garbs, and wild life in nature.

Art was made only to show beauty

Art was made to inspire the soul

  • There are countless examples of classic art having hidden meanings, but most of it was made to just be beautiful. It was made to connect to our souls, and ignite our inner feelings.

Art today is strange

  • Art that is created today is now consedered to be strange, and have an uglyness. It is nothing like the art we have seen in the past.
  • It is full of randomness, sadness, and is sometimes hard to understand.

Many people thing art is lost

that there is no more beauty to be found in today's creations

Something is different in art

ugliness can still be beautiful

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Untitled Slide

  • Something that is not commonly see dose not automatly make it ugly.
  • There are many strange things in life that still hold a sence of beauty.
  • One example is body stretching, many tribes in Africa do this, and it is considered to be a sign of beauty and strength.

Beauty in products

Untitled Slide

  • Beauty is always being considered while making a product.
  • Even if the object is not a main stream item, it can still be beautiful.

Beauty in Life

Untitled Slide

  • there are many things in everyday life that are beautiful with out even trying.
  • Nature can be both beautiful ,and devistating.
  • One cannot exist without the other, beauty needs ugly, and vice versa.

Should art rethink itself?

Untitled Slide

  • Art has made a complete turn around over the years, it is now concept based. The only thing that seems to matter anymore is the idea behind the piece.
  • This is somewhat sad, because we have lost the skills to create something beautiful. We need beauty in art, because life can be truly ugly at times

A common ground must be found

Untitled Slide

  • We must find a way to incorporate beauty, and ideas together.
  • In doing so, we can not only present a great idea, we can also enjoy something beautiful.
