The Aztec's lived in Central Mexico and California.

Their homes were low,wide houses made

of adobe, ( sun- dried bricks.)

There were many ways people worked to keep the community active. Higher class people could have leadership positions,and they could also enjoy the works of art.The many groups of common people also helped. Some were very efficient farmers. Others were merchants who got to travel and trade.People could also be artisans.Some people were also athletes.

The Aztec's traded directly to the Tenochtitlan Tribe

Food / Hunting

  • They grew Corn,chilli,peppers,squash,tomatoes,beans,and
  • other crops on their farm.
  • They ground tortillas, one of their main foods.
  • They hunted rabbits,deer,ducks,and geese for meat

Celebrations
-first rain festival at the beginning of the year of the planting in February.
-The second rain festival was offered to Tlaloc and other rain gods in March, once flowers had began to bloom, as these represented the arrivals of the first new life from the Earth.

Interesting facts

  • They discovered one of our favorite foods, chocolate.
  • Their number system was based on the number twenty,there calender 
  • had eighteen months of twenty(360 days.)They knew there were 365
  • days in each year, so they added five extra days to the end of the 
  • calender.These days were considered unlucky.

Religion
They built small temples on mounds. Nearly every act in which the Aztecs engaged was linked in one way or another to their gods.The temples are one of the few remaining signs of the Aztecs and their grandeur signifies how important religion was in this ancient society.
