GEOGRAPHY

  • The aztec empire was located in Central America
  • It's capitol is Tenochitlan
  • Tenochtitlan is modern day Mexico City
  • It was located in the valley of Mexico (1200s)

KEY LEADERS

  • The first aztec leader was Acamapichlli
  • He ruled for 19 years.
  • Mactezuma
  • Ruled 1440-1469
  • He successfully expanded the empire to the gulf of Mexico

KEY EVENTS

  • The first Nahutal speaking people settled in Mexico in the 6th centuary
  • The capitol is settled in 1325
  • First king begins his rule in 1376
  • Spain arrives in the capitol
  • The fall of Tenochtitlan

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • They used feudalism
  • They made amazing palaces
  • They had zoos
  • They were the first to incorporate mandatory universal education
  • They farmed instead of hunted.

SOCIETY SYSTEM

  • Emperors were the highest class in the social system
  • The nobles were second highest in the social system
  • Warriors were the third highest in the social system
  • The slaves were the bottom of the social sytem
  • The society system of the actecs was like the feudal system

THE AZTECS WERE VERY ADVANCED WITH TRADE

  • When farming took place of hunting there were plenty of crops to trade
  • The markets consisted of thousands of thousands people shopping for goods
  • The market sold a variety of goods
  • gold ornaments, brightly colored woven cloth and salt harvested from the lake bed
  • traded for other luxury items, such as tropical bird feathers and jaguar skins, cotton, rubber, and cacao beans

Cnclusion
The aztecs were a very complex society. They had trade, they were good warriors, and they were a strong empire.
