Formation
- In 1957, John Lennon formed "The Quarrymen"
- After several lineup changes, became "The Beatles"

- hired Ringo instead, forming the most famous Beatles lineup
Popularity and songs
- They were first popular in Hamburg, and spread to Liverpool
- Popularity expanded to across the UK in just a few years
- Afterwards, they crossed over to the US
