In 1957, John Lennon formed "The Quarrymen"
After several lineup changes, became "The Beatles"
They were unsatisfied with their drummer, Pete Best, and
hired Ringo instead, forming the most famous Beatles lineup

They were first popular in Hamburg, and spread to Liverpool
Popularity expanded to across the UK in just a few years
Afterwards, they crossed over to the US
Popular songs include "Love Me Do," "Ticket to Ride"
"A Day in the Life," and "Hey Jude."

Capitol Records hindered their fame by refusing their music, then
Negotiations with Swan and Vee-Jay helped them publish
Royalties and publishing rights became an obstacle again
