FORMATION
At 16, John Lennon formed a made a small band with Paul McCartney and George Harrison in 1960. In January of the same year, Stu Stucliffe (fellow student) joined as bass. Once they began touring, it began clear that Stucliffe couldn't play the bass properly, so they hired another man and fired him. Then they found Ringo Starr and the band had officially formed.

UK POPULARITY 1960S
From 1960, the Beatles built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over 3 years. Their manager helped them into a professional act and the producer
enhanced their musical potential. They gained popularity in the United Kingdom after their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962.

BRITISH INVASION/Tv
The British Invasion happened when a large number of rock and roll, beat, rock and pop performers from the United Kingdom who became popular in the United States during the period from 1964 through 1966. The Beatles were one of the many bands and the appeared on famous American TV shows as well, like the CBS Morning news.

INFLUENCE
No other entertainers in history have been as popular, as influential, as important or as groundbreaking. The best-selling act ever sold 600 million albums worldwide and racked up 20 No. 1 U.S. singles, a Billboard record that still stands. The band hijacked the entertainment media and transcended music to become a chapter in world history. Its members had political clout, spiritual authority, cultural sway and the ears of the planet.
