How they were formed
- Lennon played in a small band named Blackjacks
- Paul later joined the band
- Paul invited George the join the band and he impressed Lennon
- Lennons old art school friend joined when he got a bass
- They were named The Silver Beatles before dropping the silver
The beatles gained popularity in the UK after their hit song "Love me". Some of their most famous albums are "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and Magical Mystery Tour, the White Album and Yellow Submarine.
They gave their first live US television performance two days later on The Ed Sullivan Show, watched by approximately 73 million viewers in over 23 million households, the British invasion was when the beatles and other popular bands in UK became famous in America
The beatles are the most influential groups of all time because they changed music by adding other elements like classical music to rock n roll.
