John Lennon formed a group called the "Quarrymen". He then invited Paul McCartney. George Harrison, who rode on the bus to Liverpool with McCartney, was also invited. The band then changed their name to the Beatles and went through a couple of drummers before Ringo Starr. The group was formed in 1960.

The Beatles have made an impact in the music society and have influenced many artists. Their music is still covered and remains popular today.
