  • Shot down on 12th mission in Europe
  • After losing a engine
  • The mission Munster Mission to bomb German railroad port center
  • the Princess Pat model G bomber

SHOT DOWN

  • The Princess Pat blew up Dale bailed out
  • Landed in Holland and was taken hostage by Dutch police officers
  • Transferred to a German pow camp, the Stalag 17
  • Stalag 17 was located in Austria
  • Dale bailed out just in time

POW

  • Treated well in Stalag 17
  • Awarded a POW medal after the war
  • received Red Cross packages
  • containing cigarets and food such as bacon

WHEN

  • Dale Aldrich officially joined the army on August 4, 1942
  • Shot down on December 22, 1943
