The Black Dot
One morning, a professor greeted his students
announcing a surprise exam
he asked his students to draw a black dot
right in the middle of a piece of paper
"I want you to write about what you see there"
The students, dismayed, started to write
"Test is over"
The students put their pen down still puzzled
the professor started reading each test out loud:
every student described only the black dot
none of them wrote about
the white part of the paper
"The same happens in our lives"
Started to explain the professor:
"We have a white paper to enjoy,
but we always focus on the dark spots" he continued
"Dark spots are very small if compared to all the amazing things that happen to us and we have reasons to celebrate:
the care and love from our friends and families... even the challenges we face every day contribute to make us feel alive and capable of change
