PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The Church is the Body of Christ
The intimate union we have with Christ in the Eucharist is a good foundation for learning about the close relationship we can have with him through his Body, the Church.
During the Consecration in the Mass, the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. This change is called Transubstantiation.
Reception of the Eucharist intensifies the union we always have with Christ, as he dwells in us and we dwell in him.
Because we, as members of the Body of Christ, are in intimate communion with Christ as individuals, we are also all closely related to one another.
Because we belong to Christ and are in communion with him, we grow in love and other virtues.
Christ is the Head of the Body, which is the Church. Christ lives in and with her. The Church receives her life from Christ.
Christ unites the members of the Church with his life so that all may come to resemble him more and more.
