OBJECTIVE

  • not for our bridge to break in half
  • our group wanted a good grade(A+)
  • also to finish the bridge in time

  • School glue

TYPES OF STRESS

  • The sides of our bridge were pushing together towards the middle
  • Types of stress could be pulling apart
  • Another type is pushing towards each other

SOLUTIONS TO STRESS

  • we put sticks at both ends of the bridge going horizontal
  • for pushing together you can put something between them to push them apart
  • to stop the stress we put glue to harden it so it wouldnt pull apart.

THE STYLE FOR OUR BRIDGE

  • we decided to add triangles to the sides
  • for the bottom we put a flat surface
  • we also decided it was best not to put a top

how much did our bridge hold
Our bridge held 15 pounds
Our group thinks the bridge held 15 because the bottom had lots of support and the sides the bottom was really stiff and had no stress.

ADVISE FOR NEXT YEAR

  • Choose your group wisely
  • Before the bridge is due test your bridge
  • Make sure to add support on your bridge
  • Use your sticks wisely don't break them
  • Don't make a bridge with out sides or support

IF I HAD 400 STICKS

  • i would add support
  • make a stronger top putting sticks horizontal
  • I would also put sticks vertical on the top
