THE CARACAL IS IN PARTS OF ASIA AND AFRICA.

SIZE

  • The caracal is two feet and four inches long.
  • Their tails are thirty-one centimeters in length.
  • Most males are heavier than females do to their larger bodies.

WEIGHT

  • The males usually weigh thirty-six pounds but females on the other hand weigh twenty- eight pounds.

DIET

  • They eat small animals such as rodents birds and rabbits.
  • They also eat medium size animals such as antalopes,gazelles,
  • And ostriches.
  • Their biggest prey is grazing livestock.

PREDATORS

  • They are hunted by humans,hyenas,and lions.
  • Since their biggest prey is live stock they usually get hunted by people in the countryside.

  • Their average litter size is three kittens.
  • Caracals are sometimes called desert lynxes even though they have no lynx features at all.
  • Their tassels on their ears can grow to be three inches long.
  • Caracals are nocturnal meaning they sleep during the day and hunt at night.
  • They can run up to fifty miles per hour at their fastest sprint.
  • They can jump over six feet into the air.
