No one really know who created the Caravel but historians have narrowed it down to either the Arabs or the Italians

WHAT WAS THE CARAVEL USED FOR

  • The caravel was used to explore the Americas and Africa

HOW HAS SALING IMPROVED SINCE THE CARAVEL

  • Ships now have improved speed by using steam and petrol engines
  • By having improved speed they can now sail more faster than before
  • Since1973, ships were equipped with GPS

FACTS ABOUT THE CARAVEL

  • 2 of Christopher Columbus's ships were Caravels (the Niña & Pinta)
  • It had a roundish hull with a high bow and stern
  • Historians believe that the first Caravels were used for fishing
