Amputee
"The doctor had to operate and there could be no discussion." (Wiesel, 78)
When winter started, it was harsher in the camp. The conditions got worse and it was hard to work. Elie's foot started to hurt and he had to go to the infirmary. When he got there, the doctor said that the foot was full of puss and if they didn't amputate fast, he could loose his whole foot. Elie agreed to continue with the operation. I chose this picture because it shows a doctor doing surgery on somebody's leg but for Elie it was his foot.
