  • Lincoln ran agents 3 other people.
  • Lincoln won the election and became the unions president.
  • More people in the north voted for Lincoln.
  • Lincoln was the first republican in the USA.

FIRST STATE TO SECED

  • December 20,1860
  • South Carolina was the first state to seced
  • South Carolina thought Lincoln would take away there rights.
  • They allowed slavery and Lincoln didn't want slavery.

JEFFERSON'S ELECTION

  • November 6,1861
  • Jefferson became the confederate president.
  • He thought slavery was a way of life.

FORT SUMPTER

  • April 12-14,1861
  • The confederacy attacked fort sumpter.
  • The confederacy won the battle.
  • That was the first sign of war.
  • It took place in South Carolina.

FIRST MANASSAS

  • July 21,1861
  • The first Minnesota was mostly involved.
  • The confederacy won the battle.
  • It took place in Virginia

SHILOH

  • April 6-7,1862
  • The union won the battle.
  • 110,053 people fought there.
  • It took place In Pennsylvania

  • 44,000 people fought there.

ANTIETAM

  • September 16-18,1862
  • 131,000 people fought there.

  • It states all slaves are free.
  • It is a big part of our history.

VICKSBURG

  • May 18-July 4,1863
  • It lasted 17 day's!
  • A union Victory.
  • There was 110,000 men who fought there.
  • It took place in Mississippi.

GETTYSBURG

  • July 1-3,1863
  • This was the turning point of the civil war.
  • The union won.
  • The first Minnesota was support the front line of defense.
  • It was fought In Pennsylvania.

GETTYSBURG ADDRES

  • June 1,1865
  • Abraham Lincoln wrote it.
  • It stated that we honer the men who died in the battle.
