Beginning

  • The Cold War was given its name because there was no direct fighting
  • Both sides were not willing to fight each other
  • Events preceding the Cold War created tension between the 2 countries
  • The Cold War occurred soon after World War II
  • Anti- Communist remarks sparked the war 

Economic System

  • Major difference is with regards to resources or means of production
  • In Communism, the community solely owns the resources
  • In Capitalism, resource and means lie with the private owner
  • Communism is about equality

us Foreign Policy

  • Containment was a United States policy to prevent the spread of communism abroad
  • The Soviet Union continued to attempt to spread Communism
