THE COLD WAR

  • The uneasy reliance between the USSR and the USA, were a factor
  • Events which preceded the Second World War, and the Russian Revoultion of 1917
  • A series of events, after and during the World War increased reliance tensions.
  • The Cold War got it's name, through the rising tensions which added "heat"
  • Instead of heat, it added "Cold" political maneuver hence the name The Cold War

ECONOMIC SYSTEMS

  • Capitalism is an economic system, which, the trade industry and increase of production.
  • Capitalism exists in many forms of governments, and in many cultures, places and times.
  • Communism is a system where there is an absence of classes and money.
  • Developed by, Karl Marx, advocating direction in a society is and is publicly owned.
  • Each person is paid according to their ability or needs, which enforces communism.

US FOREIGN POLICY

  • The Soviet Union responded to the US policy of containment, rivalry.
  • The policy advocated the stop of the containment of communism.
  • Stop, Spread of communism from Russia to China and to developing nations.
  • Backing up of anti-Communist governments that were fighting the communist

KITCHEN DEBATE

  • The Debate Between, Nixon and Khrushchev was in July 24, 1959
  • It was filled with laborsaving recreational devices
  • It was subsequently re-broadcasted in both countries, in color broadcasting networks in both areas.
  • The debate was meant to save the American consumer market, and the debate.
