• Purely spiritual or non-corporeal beings
• Immortal
• Don't have physical bodies
• Glorify God
• Serve God's plan for all creatures

Guardian Angels

Catholic tradition says that every person has a guardian angel who is with you at all times and can prevent physical harm from you. Their greatest desire is to help you get to heaven.They can also be called your "spiritual best friend".

Prayer to a Guardian Angel

Angel of God,my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, Ever this day(night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.Amen.

THE REASON ANGELS EXIST

• To serve God
• Often serve as messengers
• Assist people to follow God's will
• Work together for the benefit of all of us

• Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she'd be the mother of Jesus
• Archangel Raphael guided Tobias in the Book of Tobit
• Christ was consoled by an angel in the Garden of Gethsemane
• Angels announced the resurrection the women at Christ's tomb
