  • They live in the city and other groups in the countryside.
  • Another difference is from the region where they were born.
  • Represent 71% of the Ecuadorian population

Afro-Ecuadorians

and mulattoes, also call them afro descendants

  • They are present in most of the provinces.
  • greater concentration in Esmeraldas, Guayas and Carchi.
  • They represent around 8% of the Ecuadorian population.

  • They comprise approximately 7% of the Ecuadorian territory.
  • the greatest concentration is in several provinces of the coast.

Indigenous

...Indigenous people speak ten different original languages.

  • They inhabit 8% of the territory
  • in the Andean Region there are the Quichuas.
  • in the Amazon region there are Shuar, Achuar, Huaorani, Amazonian Quichuas, Siona and Secoyas and A'i (Cofan).
  • On the Coast region are the Chachi, Awá and Tsachilas.

Whites

The percentage corresponds to those who in the census defined themselves as white, they belong to 6%.1
