Causes

  • Scientists think that the cause of the drought was from the change in direction of a Jet Stream.

Location

  • The location that the dust bowl occured was in the midwest and a little part of the southwest.

Why

  • The dust bowl occured from the build up of dust in the air. And the wind change from light to hard.

When

  • The dust bowl occured from 1930 to 1936. It lasted almost a decade.

Affect

  • The Dust Bowl affected any living thing that lived on land. The people and animals, that breathed in to much dust ended up dying.

Affect

  • People that could afford it, had to wear gas masked, to keep the dust out of their lungs.

Affect

  • People had to stay in their home's in the pitch black, and out of the storm.

Impact

  • The people had many of their things damaged or destroyed.

Impact

  • While others had their home's buried and couldn't get into them, others couldn't get out of them.

Warning

  • They had no warning! The morning before the storm, was a nice day with no clouds. Until the dark clouds came rolling in.

Impact

  • The the years before the storm, the environment was nice and windy and had storms. But during and after there was no more rain and it was very hot.

Impact

  • Some farmers stayed thinking they could keep the land fresh and good enough for farming plants and breeding their animals.

Impact

  • The dust storm effected and destroyed a large part of the US agricultural production.
