PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

by: Abeeda hussain-kasim

Mr. Morris Lessmore

appears to be on a balcony, writing a book with other books around him

Mr. Morris Lessmore - scene 1

  • He is writing a book; book could be his life story
  • If so, the other books could be other adventures in his life
  • Or it could signify that he loves to read
  • Mr. Morris is in a hotel; might not have a permanent home
  • He is outdoors; maybe to observe how other people go about their days. Or he just likes being outside

Hurricane

a hurricane comes and blows everything away including him and his book

Hurricane - scene 2

  • All throughout, Mr. Horris is trying to get his book and make sure he doesn't lose it; make sure he doesn't lose his life or purpose
  • When he finds it, all the words are gone. Everything is in black and white and he is devestated

AFTERMATH

Aftermath - Scene 3

  • Paper is everywhere on the ground; other people's life story.
  • The little boy is trying to find his book and get his life back together.
  • It's white and black to signify loss and sadness. Could also be foreshadowing. There was black and white before technicolor. There was despair before there was hope

The Flying Lady

Mr. Morris walks and sees a flying lady with a book balloon waving to him

The Flying Lady - Scene 4

  • The lady sends a book - Humpty Dumpty - to Mr. Morris and the book takes him to a house where there are other books
  • The flying lady is in color; probably means she has her life together and a purpose unlike Mr. Morris
  • The books on the ballon; could be her books that are taking HER on another adventure, instead of her writing her books (her life)

THe Library House

Humpty Dumpty leads Morris to a house where he finds lots of books

The Library House - Scene 5

  • Mr. Morris enters the house to see books everywhere and in color; could be the lives of all the other people who lost their books 'life'
  • It's only when Mr. Morris starts reading them and dancing that he starts to appear in color too

LIFE WITH THE BOOKS

Life With Books - Scene 6

  • Mr. Morris starts to play with the books, take care of them, clean them etc.; putting life back to the books
  • Took care of that old book. Read it so the story could be in his memories and not be lost

Life With Books - Scene 6

  • Mr. Morris starts to play with the books, take care of them, clean them etc.; putting life back to the books. Takes them outside and reads them etc. (adding to the fact that he likes the outdoors)
  • Took care of that old book. Read it so the story could be in his memories and not be lost
  • Decides to rewrite his book again; starting a new life or adding a new adventure and getting his life together

People who lost their books - life - come back for it and since they have their life back together, they are in color

GOODBYE

Mr. Morris grows old and finishes his book. He leaves just like the lady

Goodbye - Scene 7

  • He becomes younger when he decides to leave and the books surround him; the books are giving back his life like he did to them
  • He left them his book before he left. The books are happy and they go on like he never left; and he didn't, since he left his story in the book and the story represents him and as long as people keep on reading him and remembering him, Mr. Morris Lessmore will never really be gone

Mr.Morris seems to be a very nice and pleasant man. He likes to read and help others. He constantly smiles. Will never leave anybody behind
