FERRIS'S BACKGROUND

  • Ferris was born on February 14th 1859.
  • His parents were George Washington Gale Ferris
  • and Martha Edgerton hyde.
  • Ferris grew up on a dairy farm, his parents sold their
  • dairy farm when he was only 5 years old.

  • Later in 1893 he invented the amazing ferris wheel.
  • When riding the ferris wheel passangers were 264ft
  • off the ground.

  • It costed $300,000 to build.
  • 2.5 million people rode this ferris wheel
  • Before it was demolished in 1906
  • It costed people 50 cents to ride the ferris wheel.
