George Washington

  • He was the first President of the United States
  • His ideals of liberty and democracy set a solid foundation for all presidents to come
  • He was a large part in the writing and ratifying of the US Constitution 
  • Responsible for the military foundation America has today
  • Helped keep the US neutral during wars in Europe

John Adams

  • He was the second president of The United States 
  • First ever vice president
  • Negotiator in the peace treaty with Great Britain
  • Signed the Alien and Sedition Acts
  • Big part in building the US Navy

Thomas Jefferson

  • He was the third president of the United States
  • Negotiated the Louisiana Purchase
  • Was the main author of The Declaration of Independance
  • First Secretary of State serving under George Washington

James Madison

  • He was the fourth president of the United States
  • He was the Principal author of the US Constitution
  • Advocated the Checks and Balances system
  • Moved us towards more freedom of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness

  • Allso known for The Era of Good Feelings
  • Was Secretary of State and Secretary of War under Madison
