THE FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM

FAITH

• 1. All believers must testify that Allah is the only god.
• 2. Muslims believe that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
• 3. If they don't testify to these things they are not considered a
• Muslim

PRAYER

• 1. Five times a day a Muslim must pray.
• 2. They can pray at a mosque
• 3. They can also pray wherever they are during praying times.

CHARITY

• 1. Muslims believe it's their responsibility to help the less fortunate
• 2. They give money to the poor so they can eat.
• 3. They give the poor money so they can have clothes and
• Shelter

FASTING

• 1. During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan
• Muslims don't eat or drink anything all day
• 2. This reminds them that there are more important
• things in life than eating
• 3. It's also a sign of self-control and humility

PILGRIMAGE

• 1. All Muslims must make a pilgrimage to the city
• Mecca at least once in their lifetime
• 2. Also known as the hajj
• 3. Mecca is the birthplace of Muhammad
