LOCATED IN THE SOUTH EASTERN SIDE OF FLORIDA

Landscape - Positive

  • There are at least 9 different wetlands in the Everglades National Park. These wetlands are known as Freshwater marsh, Marl Priaire, Slough, Pineland, Hardwood Hammock, Cypress Dome, Mangrove Swamp, Salt Marsh and Estuary. Everglades National Park is class 1 when it comes to fresh air

Landscape - Negative

  • There is continued population growth, so the Florida ecosystem has now really distrubed the order of the River of Grass.

Climate, weather and location - positive

  • People are trying their best to keep the water clean.
  • People are trying not to pollute the air in the everglades
  • Humans are putting rules to fish in the everglades

Climate,weather and location - Negative

  • humans are still damaging the water by throwing stuff in it even though they know their is a chance they could get fined but their just carless.
  • Humans are draining the water of the everglades
  • Humans are changing the climate of the everglades and making it warmer

ANIMAL LIFE - POSITIVE

  • The government has declared the Florida Everglades a national park
  • Scientists are working on models to restore the Everglades
  • We have set higher penalties if laws are broken while visiting the Everglades

Animal life - Negative

  • Global warming has messed with migration for animals like the wood stork
  • When the rules were not in place people would pollute and interact with animals in the Everglades
  • The American alligator almost went extinct due to humans hunting them down
  • We have introduced invasive species into the Everglades like the melaleuca tree

Plant life - Positive

  • University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences. “They are rich habitats for plants, birds, and other animals and provide higher ground and stability for the Everglades drainage system.

Plant life - Negative

  • Damage from boats generally occurs when a boat propeller contacts either the submerged vegetation or the vegetation and the bay bottom
  • Mangroves are victims of dredging, filling, and diking, water pollution from oil spills and herbicides, and urban development within the state of Florida.Eventually it leads to the death of mangrove trees.
  • Human activity upland from mangroves may also impact water quality and runoff.
