The Gilded Age was a time of great economic growth, when average jobs' wages increased greatly through corruption and economic growth
Labor/Union
Miners wait for the elevator to go up at the end of a shift in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Many children worked in the mines because it was easy for them to fit in the small spaces.

Immigration
The Inspection Room on Ellis Island, New York, where immigrants were tested for disease before they were allowed in the country. This was partially due to the new jobs available in the Gilded Age

Urbanization
Urbanization was a result of the railroads, just like this one in Texas, built across the United States. As the railroads grew, so did the cities to the west.

Populism
Chinese men look at flyers as the first Chinatown in America is formed in San Francisco, California. Chinatown came into existence due to the many Chinese workers that helped build the railways across America.

Segregation
Signs pop up the streets in Detroit as people try to stop the Chinese from overpopulating America. As previously stated, the Chinese came to America to build the railroads.
