• Bronia's older sister
• Sent to force labor camp
• Gets sick at Auschwitz and is sent to another concentration camp
• Died in a gas chamber

Mendek

• Bronia's older brother
• Volunteered to take Mila's spot to go to a force labor camp
• Got a little bit of food everyday

Help from a stranger

• A woman starts to take care of Bronia when Mila dies
• The woman brings her to Slovakia  
• Her cousin Asher finds her and brings her to Mendek
