In the beginning all life existed in the sky

Obtala went to Olrun and wanted to make solids in the water so that beings could exist.

Obtala made a golden chain and gathered sand, maize, and palm nuts.

Orunmila sent Obtala to gather personalities for the beings.

Obtala used the sand in the water and created land

Obtala scattered the seeds gathered and grass began to grow on the land.

As he stopped to drink water in a pond...

He sculpted clay into figures he saw in his reflection in the pond

He grew thirstier...

He took juice from palm trees which fermented into palm wine

He became intoxicated and Olorun sent Chameleon to check on Obtalas progress.

Disappointed, Olorun spark a gas explosion that make the Earth spin.

Even Obtala's figures of clay came to life as the first beings on Earth.
