HOW IS HAPPENED

  • It happened after the war and when the Constiturion was being made. Virginia and New Jersey both had different ideas though.

VIRGINIA PLAN

  • Gave more to national government.
  • Bicameral legislature.
  • Number in both houses based on population.

NEW JERSEY PLAN

  • Gave more power to state government.
  • Unicameral legislature.
  • Number of representatives equal from each statererepresentav

AS YOU SEE

  • Both plans were incredible different in which caused some problems. After arguing the Great compromise was made to fix this dilemma.

THE GREAT COMPROMISE

  • Bicameral legislature.
  • Number of representatives based on state populations in lower house.
  • Number of representatives equal from state in upper house.
