  • New democracies were formed in Europe after the war
  • Large political parties made it hard to make a good government
  • A coalition government was made to make a temporary government

Weimar Republic

Weimar republic formed in Germany to get democracy into geramny

Hyper Inflation

Germany suffered from this making all their money worthless.

Economic stability

  • America loaned money to Germany to help their government
  • Germany and France tried to keep peace with each other 
  • They created a treaty promising to never fight again
  • This treaty tried to prevent any more conflict between the countries

financial colapse

  • U.S economy begins to fall
  • Other countries start to fall apart without America to buy their goods
  • World economy begins to fall apart

Stock market crash

  • Wall street colapses
  • everyone wanted to sell stocks

Great depression

American economy falls others fall with it

global depression

  • unemployment rates rise
  • America could not buy from other countries
  • Leading to European countries with no one to sell to

  • Germany and Austria hit hard
  • Farmers crop prices reduced to half in 2 years

  • Britain helps economy by creating coalition government 
  • France holds on to democratic government

Recovery in the U.S

  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt is elected president
  • he helped restore faith in the nation

The new deal

  • Roosevelt's first act was to make the new deal
  • New deal program created lots of jobs
  • Helped reform Americas economy

Roosevelt changes U.S

Roosevelt changed the U.S and got them back on track
