Vietnam was north and south. North was communist so the U.S.A. Joined south Vietnam so they could train and fight beside them
North Vietnam and the Vietcong wanted to keep their country so the Vietcong were guerrilla soldiers behind enemy lines that gave the southern troops a hard time
During this war, America had protesters and hippies against the war and riots happened
Eventually U.S. Troops had to pull out due to no progress and the riots to stop it in our own country

YEAR 1968
- North Korea steals a us ship saying it was on their territory
- Vietcong launch The Tet Offensive
- Robert Kennedy was killed
- Martin Luther King Jr. Was shot and killed
- They were preparing for disaster, Todd Clark
Music in the sixties had a big impact on all of the hippies and students that followed the sound of anti war songs

Protesters were many different people but mostly were students known as hippies
When the hippies got together they smoked and did drugs
Eventually they went on riots to stop the war and that led to deaths around the country
WOMENS MOVEMENT
- Gave women right to vote
- Allowed them same jobs as men
- Got more even pay with men
- Wanted more respect for women around the world
Without the women's movement we would still have feminist laws today
Earth Day was made for a day to respect the earth
You were supposed to plant trees, clean up, and not litter
Cesar Chavez was a Mexican grape picker in California that wanted better working conditions
He and a group of Mexicans went on strike and it caught on to many others
They boycotted all over the United States and eventually they got what they wanted
