WHO INVENTED THE CALENDAR?
The ancient Egyptians created it
Counted number of days between appearance of a star
The stars name is Sirius
This way they found out there are 365 days in a year

They now had to divide the year into smaller parts
Early people used moon cycles to divide the years
The Egyptians had 12 months each with 30 days
They also had 5 days added on

They added one day to the year every for years
We know this as a leap year
By the 1500s spring came ten days to early
Pope Gregory XIII fixed this and created the calendar we use today
