ANALYZE

There are 31,000,000 homeless that are on the edge of hunger or about to be on the edge of hunger. And,50% of the homeless are African American. There are 1300 men, women and children who face a night without a home in ALACHUA county.

WHAT I DID

I helped the homeless by donating things like: toilet paper, toothpaste, tooth brushes, clothes and e.t.c. I got these things from asking my neighbors and family members for donations. I took these items to the home van and Family Promise. The home van is a place that gives things to the homeless and sometimes you could spend time with them. Family promise is an organization that helps homeless find jobs. The homeless there working with needs to have no record of drugs, and no active criminal record.

REFLECTION

I feel really sad that are so many homeless but I feel better about it because I helped them as much as I could and I know I made a difference. In other words I am glad I helped because homelessness is such a big problem and i know I made their day. I am going to continue volunteering for the homeless and other conflicts that need attention. I had many problems when arranging my project that were in my way but I overcame them and that helped me grow as a person because I learned that everything doesn't go the way you want it so I needed to make some arrangements.

YOU CAN HELP

  • Ask for donations
  • Go to a homeless shelter
  • Make food for them
I'm a 9 year old girl that is in 4th grade so don't think that you can't help because you can. But remember that before you go,you need to reassure that you can volunteer there. Some ways you could help are asking for donations, going to a homeless shelter or just make a simple meal for a small group. These are just some sarcasticly but you could go ahead and be creative.

CONCLUSION

500+ children 18 and under are given a night without a home. So,what I'm really trying to say is that the homeless really do NEED help and YOU can help them to. Thank you for watching. Any questions?
