The house that I am currently in, is the house I grew up in. Which I have lived most of my life in. Its not the biggest house out there but its a decent size. Its in a neighborhood. Its a tan color with a fence around it. Then when I was in the middle of the fourth grade we moved to Stafford. Because of my dads job, it was a brick house with a fence around it. In a smaller neighborhood then the one we were in before. And I would stay there for three years. It wasn't a bad house but, it wasn't home to me. So after I finished my seventh grade year. We had to rent a house for a year. Because my original house i lived in was being rented to family. And we couldn't just kick them out. So we had to wait a year until the lease was up. But it wasn't far from the original house so I wouldn't have to change schools again so it wasn't bad. So I have lived in the house that I am in now for 13 years. And it is the place I call home. I have lived in other houses but they weren't home to me. And i hope I don't have to move again since i am almost done with high school and don't wanna change schools.

Our good day

"Don't talk to them," says Cathy. "Cant you see they smell like a broom."

I can relate to the quote because, when new kids came to are street. That we didn't know. We would not want to talk to them because they were different. Maybe the dressed different or talked different. And we all had bikes. That we use to ride up and down the street. We would race and run through ditches. And normally the way we would talk to the new kids on the street is. When we wanted to play a game that needed more people then we had. So we would ask them if they wanted to play the game with us. If they said yes then. We would tell them how to play. If they played fair and were nice. Then the next day we would ask them again. Then that's how we would get to know them. Meeting new people was cool. Because they had new ideas for different games. And the best part was going to their house to see what toys the had to play with. Or try new food that there parents cook. Or too see if they have any brothers or sisters. And if their parents are nice or not.

NEIGHBORS

"She says the neighborhood is getting bad."

Neighbors are good sometimes. They can help you out sometimes. Or the could be bad. They can damage your stuff when your not home if they hate you. They can be loud and have party's late and night when your trying to sleep. They could play loud music. Leave trash everywhere. They could have dogs that bark all night long while you try to sleep. They could be lazy and have trees that grow over in your yard and not cut them back so you have to do it. They could be lazy and not cut their grass a lot. Which can lead to snakes and all kinds of bugs that can come over to your yard. They could have a loud and truck that when they start it. To go to work it can wake you up. Which can take away from your sleep time. That you need to have so you can go to work. Which can make you do bad at your job. If there house is dirty and a mess. It will bring the value of your house down because. Of the mess they have. So you have to be nice to your neighbors. So they will be nice to you.

Gil's Furniture bought and sold

"There is a junk store. An old man owns it." PG.19

There's this old junk store not to far from my house. That i go to all the time. And most of the time when i go there i buy things. I like to go there and look around. And there's always cool things. He has to sell in his store. And with all his items he sells. He has a store behind them. IF you ask about the item. He will come over and tell you the price. And then he will start telling you how. He came upon the item. And why he bought this item. All his items he sells he sells at a fair price. And when he buys something. If its broke he will fix it up. Or if it needs paint he paints it. He's pretty old so i wonder who the place will be left too. And if they will take as much care as he did. And pride in his work and what he has. But only time will tell.

Cousin

"He is my brothers friend....i know he has two cousins" PG.23

I have a few cousins that i hang with a lot. And that i have a lot of memories with. The ones that i hang out with are a couple of years younger then me. And that i hang out with every other weekend. Either i go over to his house. Or i go get home and bring him to my house. And we hang out and do things. We go out to eat. Or go to the movies. Sometimes we go and ride four wheelers. Or work on trucks that need to be fixed. He lives in stafford in the neighborhood i use to live in. When i lived there me and him use to hang out everyday. We would ride bikes. Or go to the school and play basketball. We never went to the same school. Because im 3 years older then him and we are too many grades apart. To ever have class together. But we always hang out so its okay. And hes one of my bestfriends.

Stuck

"Send her back to her mother" PG.26

I have a story of where me and my friend. Went out after we had a hard rain. The day before, he wanted to take his truck through some mud. And he wanted me to ride with him. I told him i wasn't gonna take my truck in the mud. But that i would follow him out there and leave it on the road. So if he did get stuck i could pull him out. He kept saying "Oh no, i wont get stuck its fine."And i said "Are you sure?" He said "yeah." So I rode with him. And once we got there, we notice it was really muddie. So i was thinking to myself. I should have drove my own truck because hes gonna get this thing stuck. We messed around for about a hour. In some small mud holes. And there was this really big one over in the corner. I was like dont go in that hole you will get stuck. He was like oh no i wont. And drove straight in it. And got stuck. So i had to call my mom. So she could bring my truck out there. So i could pull him out. Once she got there with my truck. I got my tow strap out and hooked it to his truck. And then i yanked it out.

so Many children

"Rosa Vargas' kids are too many and to much" PG.29

There's this old lady that lives down the street. That has six kids, all boys. And they are very destructive. The oldest is 10, and the youngest is 4. And she is a single a parent. So i know it has to very hard on her. She has to work all day long. Then come home and take care of her kids. And a house full of young boys. Gets crazy when they are running around. The reason why she was a single mom. Is because her husband left her. After they had a really big fight one time. And he just never came back. She doesnt know if hes alive or dead. When he was there. They had a good amount of money. They had a nice house. Nice cars and cool toys to play with. But after he left. the house went down the drain. There grass was always tall. Leaves all over the yard. Broken trees limbs everywhere. They value of the house just went way down after he left.

Alicia who sees mice

"Is afraid of nothing except four-legged fur." PG.31

I dont know why people are so scared of mice. Because mice are small. And not really harmful. There gross, but thats really it. I dont understand why people freak out so bad when they see them. Like when i see once. I tried to step on it but, of course it was too fast. So i found some mouse traps. To put up, to try and kill it. It was only one, and it was at the hunting shack i go to. So i had to kill it so it wouldn't get in to the food. Because nobody wants to eat food after mice have been it in. So now that i had see the mouse at the shack. I had to hurry and kill it. So i put a bunch of mouse traps down. And some of that food that kills mice when they eat it. And two days later i found him in one of the traps. So i took him and throw him in the trash can. And now we wouldnt have to worry about it getting in the food.

The Family of little Feet

"There was a family. All were little." PG.39

My mom has small feet. Shes also pretty short. Shes about five foot. But when i was about six i had the same size foot as her. Then about six months later i had bigger feet then her. I was going up a size just about every year. But they haven't grown any more since i got to a fourteen. And my dad wears a 13. My mom wears a 5 in women's. So im glad i didn't get small feet from her. Because they wouldn't look right on me. One because im a guy, And im tall. Buying shoes is the struggle because i have to order them. I cant buy them in the store. Because most of them don't carry a size that big. And if they do its not a shoe i like. So when i went new shoes i have to order them. And then wait two weeks for them to ship. Because of that i don't buy new shoes often. And if they don't fit i have to send them back. And wait two more weeks for a new pair.

A rice Sandwich

"You don't live far, she says." PG.45

I've personally always had enough food to eat. And never had to eat just a rice sandwich. But i people that have had to do that. Because their family didn't have the money to buy anything else. And it doesn't look very good. One because i don't like rice that much. And two its a pretty plain meal. But you have to do what you have to do, If that's all you got to eat. Its better then not eating at all. But that's not something i would look forward to everyday. And i could understand why she would wanna buy lunch over eating a rice sandwich. And plus no kids wanna be left out. All kids wanna fit it. And not get bullied because they are different. So if a kid has a chance to fit in of course they are going to do so. And maybe she just wants to feel normal. By eating lunch with the other kids at the lunch table. So wont be able to watch her tv no more but it would be worth it. All in all you have to do what you have too do. So if that means eating a rice sandwich then thats what you got to do.

Family CElebrations

I Always hate when i got to a family celebration. And there is music and a family member try to pull me on the dance floor. Like if i wanted to go dance i would. I done need you to try and pull me out on the dance floor. But i know there just trying to have fun. But if i don't wanna do something don't try and make me do it. Because that only makes me mad. And i don't wanna have to be mad at a family celebration. I wanna have fun and enjoy my time there. Not be mad because you tried to make me do something i didn't want to do. But other then that i really enjoy seeing family. That i haven't seen in a long time. And talking and catching up with them. Possibly seeing new family members. If somebody had a kid. And normally when we have a celebration. We normally do something fun like go to the movies or go bowling. And its normally a all day thing too.

My first job

"I needed money." PG.53

My dad got me my first job. And i still am currently working there. The pay is decent and the hours aren't bad either. The job it self is pretty easy also. But one bad thing is its really hot during the summer in there. And pretty cold in the winter. But other then that its a good first job. My dad had worked there for 25 years. And my mom worked there for 22. My dad was the plant manger when he was there. And my mom worked on the floor where i work at now. Then she moved up into the office. Which is where im hoping to go. For more pay and two its easier. And i like money alot. So why not do a easier job and make more money? And plus are plant manger we have now is leaving soon. But its a day shift job. And i work night shifts because of school. But once i get out of school maybe i can have that job. Because i dont wanna work on the plant floor for ever. And work a dead end job.
