USES OF THE RIVER
In the 1900's Hudson River was used as a defense in battles. But also served as a place to dump trash and sewage.

The river suffered terribly from the pollution of raw sewage and the dumping of chemicals. A law was passed in 1965 to protect the river from further pollution.

Changes in the River:
Water warms and cools, tides ebb and flood, organisms come and go, and most of all, the river bends and breaks.
A lot of this depends on the weather and season.

Fun Fact:
The Hudson River flows 2 ways!
