Muscular System

The Muscular System

Information

  • The human body has more than 600 muscles.
  • Some muscles we can control while others we can't. Muscles are altogether made of the same material.
  • You have three unique sorts of muscles in your body: smooth muscle, cardiovascular muscle, and skeletal muscle.

Smooth Muscles

Information

  • Smooth muscles can also be called involuntary muscles. These muscles cannot be controlled and your body tells these muscles what to do.
  • Smooth muscles are at work all the time.
  • The muscle that makes up the heart is called cardiac muscle. It is also known as the myocardium

Skeletal Muscle

Information

  • Skeletal muscles can also be called striated muscles. Skeletal muscles are voulantary muscles.
  • In most cases, a skeletal muscle is attached to the end of a muscle.
  • These muscles make up the musculoskeletal system. Tendons help the muscles stay attached to the bones.

Major Muscles

Information

  • Deltoid muscles are in your shoulders.
  • You can find pectoralis muscles on each side of your chest.
  • Below the pectoralis you find your abdominals.
  • Other muscles are the biceps, quadriceps, and gluteus maximus.

The Major Muscles

Skeletal System

Information

  • Bones gives your body structure. The adult human body has 206 bones.
  • The outer surface of the bone is called periosteum. The next layer is called the compact bone. The next layers are cancellous and bone marrow

The Bone

Skeletal System

Information

  • Ribs are like a cage of bones that protect organs in that area like your heart.
  • Ribs come in pairs. Most people have 12 pairs of ribs, while others might have more or less.
  • The first seven pairs of ribs are connected to the sternum. The other pairs are not.

Rib Cage

Information

  • The skull protects the brain. The skull is made up of different types of bones.
  • When you were a baby your bones in your skull had spaces in between, but when your growing up your bones get closer together and have no spaces.

Information

  • Your hand is made up of 54 bones. Each arm is attached to a bone named scapula. The arm is made of 3 bones. They are called the humerus, the radius, and the ulna.

Your Hand

Information

  • Your femur is the longest bone in your body. This bone is your legs.
  • Other bones in your body include patella, tibia, fibula, and talus. All these bones help the formation of the leg and foot. There are a total of 52 bones in our legs and feet.

Nervous System

Information

  • The nervous system is made of the brain, the spinal cord, and a large system of nerves. The nervous system lets our bodies communicate and lets our brain control what happens in our body.

The Nervous System

Information

  • There are two main types of nerves. They are called motor and sensory nerves.
  • Motor nerves are for the brain to control the muscles and the sensory nerves are for the brain to kn ow what is happening in the outside world. Each nerve is made up of a cell called a neuron.

Neuron

Information

  • Our brains are smart although we might not think so. Ou bodies have times where they act faster than the brain and the body does not tell the brain.
  • This effect is called our reflexes.

Respiratory System

Information

  • The respiratory system is one of the most important systems in the human body. This system helps us breathe correctly in and out. This system also helps when we talk.
  • Our body uses a muscle called diaphragm to breathe in. To breathe out our body uses the same muscle. We breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.

The Lungs

Circulatory System

Information

  • The circulatory system delivers blood and other nutrients to other parts of the body. With every heart beat blood is sent throughout the body. The circulatory system is composed of the heart and blood vessels.
  • The pulmonary circulation is a short cycle from the heart to the lungs, and the systemic flow sends blood from the heart to the all the parts of our bodies.

Circulatory System

Information

  • The heart is the main factor of the circulatory system. Its main function is to pump blood throughout the body.

Digestive System

Information

  • The digestive system starts from the moment you put food in your mouth. The digestive system is made up of the alimentary canal. The alimentary canal has many organs, like the esophagus, the stomach, and the intestines.
  • When you eat and shwallow the food the foos goes through your throat called the pharynx.

Digestive System

Information

  • From the throat, the food goes into the esophagus. At the end of the esophagus the food enters the stomach. There the food turns into the energy our bodies need.
  • The other food that needs further digestion goes into the intestines.
  • Other organs include the liver, and small and large intestines.

Endocrine System

Information

  • A gland is a group of cells that produces and gives off chemicals. The endocrine system has many parts and organs that make this system.
  • One of the organs that are part of this system is the brain. The endocrine system tells what the hormones that the endocrine produces where to go and what to do.

Endocrine System

The Systems Of The Animals

Information

  • Every animal has all the systems that have been mentioned. But, each animal has different functions or little features that make them different. Every animal from a fish to a reptile have different features. Chickens have more features or organs than the pig in the digestive system. Fish have different systems because they live underwater and need special organs so that they can survive.
