William the conquer
william the conqueror was the first norman king of england. he was called william the conquer for invading england, the invasion was called the norman invasion. However he came from france. England and france argued over who should rule who.
historic battles
In 1300 England claimed land in south France. France was supporting Scotland in defeating england. battles started when the king of france tried to invade England. England then declared war on france. England had many victories, there biggest one was attacking Orleans. Finally in 1453 the french drove the English out of France and ended the war.
Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc was a French peasant who was devoted catholic in 1429 she became a knight and lead the French to victory in the battle of orleans. in 1431 she was captured and executed. She eventually became the national heroine of france and declared a saint in the catholic church in 1920.

Weapons
new weapons were invented during the hundred years war. the longbow could pierce a knights armor, which made knights obsolete. later came gunpowder technology from China, they then developed guns and cannons.
