As the band became new in the 90s, they were signed with one of the most popular labels today. But as they began to fade and become less popular as society changed, so did their record label.
This song is more upbeat and positive than the other ones in the album.
Since their style of music is so different from most popular music, I think that's why they were signed by independent labels.
A reason this song could be so different from society is because the band is from Sparta, Greece. So they could have a different world view and culture.
This song is about growing old with someone you love. If this was how all of society was, there would be no celebrity drama, no scandal, and happy marriages.
We can talk all night, we can talk all day
We can play charades when there is nothing to say
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
I can make you angry you can make me a smile
We can make origami with the kids for a while
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
Now it won’t be long
No, it won’t be long
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
We can lay around and count the number of times
I've acted foolish and you’ve rolled your eyes
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
Turn me on to the idea of growing old
You in your kerchief, and me in my cap
We can settle down for an afternoon nap
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
Now it won’t be long
No, it won’t be long
You turn me on to the idea of growing old
Turn me on to the idea of growing old
Turn me on to the idea of growing old
I think this song has a good message. They are talking about growing old with someone, not being with multiple people--one person.
It kind of strays away from what our society says today, that divorce is okay and that you can always just remarry. Or reasons for marriage, such as money. But this song is saying that they want to be married and they want to grow old and share life experiences with someone.
I also agree with this songs worldview because I do think that marriage is supposed to last like it was created to. God created marriage for two people and for them to be together "till death do us part".
The name of the song drew me to it, I just thought it was going to be a cute song.
&
This song reflects our culture because people are looking and want a love that will last.
How this song reflects me:
Well, I guess I too love the idea of "growing old with someone". But who doesn't?
