Achilles vs hector

  • Hector's mother and father beg him to come inside Troy's walls.
  • Hector's mother reminds him of his nurturing.
  • Hector debates whether or not to go inside the walls or not to himself.
  • Hector is helped by Athena to out run Achilles.
  • Achilles chases Hector around Troy's walls three times.

The battle

  • On Olympus, the gods decide Hectors fate of death.
  • Athena tells Achilles he will be successful and she will help him.
  • She takes the form of Deiphobus and tells Hector she will help him.
  • Achilles misses with his spear and Athena returns it to him.
  • Achilles deflects Hector's spear with his shield.

Achilles kills hector

  • Achilles throws his spear again striking Hector in the neck.
  • Hector once again begs for a proper burial before dying.
  • Achilles refuses and taunts him.
  • Hector is dead.

The end of hector

  • Achilles takes Hectors body and attaches it to a chariot.
  • He drags the body around the walls of Troy and back to camp. 
  • They defile the body and Hector is lamented by those of Troy.
