THE DAILY LIFE OF A PEASENT CONSISTS OF:

  • Brewing beer
  • Making cheese
  • Spinning wool
  • Working in the gardens and fields
  • Craftspeople may craft pottery, leather, and iron

MOSTLY NO TRAINING OR EDUCATION

ONLY CRAFTSPEOPLE WERE TRAINED TO CRAFT WHAT THEIR PARENTS DID

  • Harvesting + growing crops
  • Tending animals
  • Mending fences, tools, + buildings
  • Collecting wood, animals, + fish
  • Craftspeople crafted fuels, clothes, iron, +leather

THERE IS SPECIAL TREATMENT T PEASANTS W/ SKILLS

CRAFTSPEOPLE HAVE A MORE IMPORTANT PURPOSE

RIGHTS OF THE PEASANTS

  • Serfs stayed on the land where born
  • Paid taxes on all grain, marraige, + tithe
  • Gathered their own food

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PEASANTS

  • Obey Lord
  • Permission to travel
  • Grow + harvest enough food for self,
  • family, tithe, + Lord

PEASANT MEALS

  • Vegetables
  • Black/brown bread
  • Grains
  • Cheese
  • Soup/Stew

THEIR HOUSES

CROWDED COTTAGES W/ HAY FLOORS AND PIGS TO KEEP WARM

CLOTHES ON THE PEASANTS

ONLY HAD ONE CHANGE OF CLOTHES AND USED HAY FOR SOCKS

Peasants are at the bottom of the Feudal Pyramid
