According to the American Marketing Association (AMA), marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. Product

Product includes deciding which products or services to make and sell. Product development includes the features, brand name, package design, and warranty.

Price

Price is what is exchanged for the product or service. It reflects what customers are willing and able to buy. When pricing, the business needs to consider the cost to produce the product and how much to charge in order to make it reasonable for customers to buy, all while making a profit.

Place

Place is the means of getting the product into the customer's hands. Products can be sold in a physical store or online. Other place decisions include which transportation methods and stock levels are most effective for the product.

Promotion

Activities related to advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, publicity, and social media. Promotion is how marketers tell potential customer about the company's products. Used to inform, persuade, or remind. Strategies include the message, media selected, special offers, and the timing of the promotional campaigns.
