THE MOON JELLY IS FOUND BY THE COAST IN MOSTLY WARM TROPICAL WATERS.

What the moon jelly eats.
The moon jelly feeds on zooplankton,including plankton organisms like mollusks,crustaceans,tunicate larvae,copepods,rotifers,nematodes,young polychaete,protozoans,diatoms,and eggs.

What eats the moon jelly.
The leatherback sea turtle eats the moon jelly.
The leatherback sea turtle is the most common predator.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE MOON JELLY.

  • The moon jelly has tentacles that sting its prey.
  • The moon jelly ranges to 2 to 15 inches in diameter.
  • Instead of long tentacles the moon jelly has short ones that sweep food toward them.
