The Murray River is a very important river because it is a major water supply for over 1.5 million people

The Murray River is found in 3 different states mostly in Victoria but goes into South Australia and New South Wales

The Southern Ocean flows in through the the Murray Mouth into lake Alexander and up into the Murray River

The land around the Murray River is magnificent there are red gum trees everywhere, fish splashing in the water and ducks gobbling up the bread

Some of the towns located along the river are Echuca, Swan Hill, Albury and Renmark

The River affects the people of these towns because of the floods from rainfall!

Some of the plant life around the Murray is Red Gum trees, Gum trees in general, Quong dong fruits, tiger orchard and the darling lily flower

The Water of the Murray provides for.....

  • Us people to drink
  • The cattle and land animals to drink from
  • The fishes and aquatic life's homes
  • To water the crops like rice and oranges
  • The birds food in the water
  • Ski and water sport clubs for people

Some problems the Murray River is facing at the moment are water loss from drought, Carp make the water dirty, humans hunting and killing the animals and pollution in the water from boats

  • The Murray River is home to the largest Red Gum forest in the WORLD!
  • This river covers 14% of Australia
  • There are 23 different river valleys
  • 95% of Australia's oranges are grown at the Murray River!!!😀
