- The theory of Natural Approach is...by causing the students to be fully engaged, with listening, speaking, reading and writing, in a low stress enviroment will cause them to learn much better.

- Relia is key!
- Just a reminder on what Relia is - Relia is objects or visual aids used in a classroom setting.
Natural Approach is basically a hodgepodge of different parts of different techniques.
What Skills to Emphasize
- Natural Approach will emphasize the skills of understanding, communicating, and grammar.
The Role of the Teacher
- Speak ONLY the language that the students are to be learning.
- No Correcting on grammar and pronunciation.
- Offer a lot of encouragement and affirmation.
- Lots of activities in the classroom.
The Role of the Student
- They can use the native language or the language they are trying to learn.
- They are to do a lot of listening and then they are to participate.
Advantages
- Learning is done in a stress free and relaxed setting.
- Good for conversational language.
- Also good for basic reading and writing
Disadvantages
- It limits teaching, to keep the students attention, and to keep it relevant to ALL students.
