The How To...

  • Relia is key!
  • Just a reminder on what Relia is - Relia is objects or visual aids used in a classroom setting.

Natural Approach is basically a hodgepodge of different parts of different techniques.

What Skills to Emphasize

  • Natural Approach will emphasize the skills of understanding, communicating, and grammar.

The Role of the Teacher

  • Speak ONLY the language that the students are to be learning.
  • No Correcting on grammar and pronunciation.
  • Offer a lot of encouragement and affirmation.
  • Lots of activities in the classroom.

The Role of the Student

  • They can use the native language or the language they are trying to learn.
  • They are to do a lot of listening and then they are to participate.

Advantages

  • Learning is done in a stress free and relaxed setting.
  • Good for conversational language.
  • Also good for basic reading and writing

Disadvantages

  • It limits teaching, to keep the students attention, and to keep it relevant to ALL students.
