Objectives

  • To explore the capabilities of art installations with respect to the communication of scientific knowledge.
  • To evaluate how participants understand and remember scientific information from an art installation as compared to a list of scientific facts.

Methodology

  • Designing an art installation
  • Selecting participants (18 + 18)
  • Setting a place
  • Giving a list of facts
  • Creating an art installation (group 2)
  • Applying the measure
  • Applying the measure after 2 months

Results

  • During the first session there was no significant difference between the overall outcomes of the factual and art installation group.
  • The art installation group showed an improved performance in the second session.
