THe One Child Policy

Emile Highland and Melissa Schilling

1 kid, 2 kid, 3 kid, oh my!
Imagine living in a world where women were forced into abortion and children were denied due to over population! Well, that's the world we live in today.

The one child policy was formed in China in the late 1970's. During the one child policy a family can only have one child.

Some couples who wished for a male kid, would have gender discriminated abortion until they fertilized a female!

People thought that the one child policy would make children self-centered and not sociable to other children.

This "One Child Policy" has spawned many young couples choosing to have children which results in the overly populated area we know as China.

The people that were involved in the One Child Policy were China's National People's Congress. The people of the Congress were the ones who issued the policy.

A big portion of the reason why the policy was made, was because China did not promote the use of birth control but at the same time, didn't want to over crowd the country. These two reasons clashed and resulted in the One Child Policy.

Some people are allowed to have two children if they go through paper work with the city and government.
